Our New House

We closed on our new house on Friday, July 6th. We hired movers to move all our big heavy furniture on Friday afternoon. It was 90 degrees so we felt kind of bad for the movers, but it was well worth it. They moved that stuff in at least half the time it would have taken us. We spent our first night in our new house on Friday night. Jack also had his first head injury on Friday. He was crawling backwards down the porch step and bumped his nose and boy did it start bleeding! It was awful! Blood was everywhere. Thankfully, he was ok.

On Saturday, we were up bright and early to move the rest of our stuff. We rented a Uhaul and recruited some family and friends and got to work. Again, it was HOT, but thank goodness for all the help we had. It was actually a pretty quick process. So we were moved in by 11:30 on Saturday morning.

We've slowly started to unpack. I'm leaving tonight to go out of town for work until Thursday so that leaves Terry with Jack and a house that is in slight chaos. Sorry Terry! We're going back to our old house today to clean up and pick up a couple straggler items. It is a bittersweet experience. We are thrilled with our new house, but it is sad to see our old house go. It was our first house and the house we brought Jack home to. There was a lot of love in that house. And we will miss our neighbors so much! The Sasos have been great friends to us and we loved hanging out on our street with the Saso's, the Forth's and the Rolley's. They all had kids around Jack's age so it is sad to leave such wonderful people.

Thank you so much to all our family and friends who helped us throughout the process. We couldn't have done it without you!

Now on to a new chapter in our life.

The Sasos miss you already, but we know we'll be keeping in touch. Maria still wakes up and looks out the window to your (old) house and says "Jack! Jack!" - figures she finally learns how to say his name AFTER you move! She still runs to your yard when we go out to play.

Can't wait to visit after you get settled in. You have such a beautiful new home!

Oh, and Happy Belated Birthday to Terry!
